Subscribers to PS Plus Premium can now access two iconic titles from the Legacy of Kain series—Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2—both featuring trophy support. These additions are not to be confused with the upcoming Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered duology, which is set for release later. While trophy support for classic games added to PS Plus is not entirely new, it has mostly been reserved for titles developed or published by Sony.

The Legacy of Kain series began in 1996 with Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and saw five installments by 2003. Developed by the now-defunct Silicon Knights and published by Crystal Dynamics, the series was dormant for many years until the acquisition of Crystal Dynamics by Embracer Group, which has since announced remasters of the Soul Reaver duology. While Soul Reaver is considered the core of the series, Blood Omen 1 and Blood Omen 2 are important entries that round out the story, with Blood Omen 1 being the first game and Blood Omen 2 the fourth.

Today, PS Plus Premium subscribers are receiving 17 new titles, including the PS1 classic Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and its PS2 sequel Blood Omen 2. According to PSNProfiles, both titles now support trophies on PS4 and PS5, with each game featuring 21 trophies, including a platinum trophy. Most of these trophies involve completing the main campaign, but some require players to collect upgrades. In Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, for example, trophies are awarded for finding all weapons, armor, spells, and objects, as well as for completing actions like inflicting 250 mutilations, savoring 500 meals, and performing 1,000 slayings.

Blood Omen 2 also includes campaign-related trophies, along with challenges like draining 200 bodies of blood or filling Kain’s Lore Bar nine times. One trophy, titled “When All Else Fails,” asks players to complete two levels using only claws and/or Dark Gifts. The addition of trophies to these classic PS Plus titles offers a fresh incentive for both new players and returning fans.

The release of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen 2 comes just ahead of the Soul Reaver remasters, which are set to launch on December 10. With this addition, almost all Legacy of Kain games will be available on modern platforms, fueling speculation that the series could see something new beyond remasters in the future.
